             Value: Eating the right kind and amount of foods makes everyone
                              healthy and strong.
                  A.  Motivation
                       1. Singing of an action song   
                       2. Let the pupils form three groups then let them solve the different
                               picture puzzles like of a tree,  cow  and cassava
                       3. Have the pupils present their work to the class
     4. Ask the pupils the importance of the tree, cow and cassava in man’s life

            Mrs. Santos is a guest. She just came to visit.
            The thin boy has not grown much. His weight of 22 kilograms last year has     
                               not changed.
             Look at my height. It is one and a half meters.
             Your eyes are bright. Your lips are red. You seem to glow.
     1.2. What do you do when somebody is telling a story?
     1.3. Why do we need to eat? What are the three basic food groups?
   2. Listening
     2.1  The teacher reads the story  “Growing Up Healthy” while
             the pupils are listening.

     4. Reading
  4.1 The pupils read the paragraph, “Things and More Things”
  4.2  What are the different things we can buy from the department store?

    Copy the sentence that best describe the pictures in every number.
                                    Ex.

a.      The dog barks at stranger.
b.      The plant is healthy.
c.      The girl eats ice cream.
C. Skill Development
   Classify the different objects as to colors, shapes, numbers and houses
                 by placing them in a pocket chart.
Example of objects:  cut-outs of different shapes, numbers, colored stuff
                                 and houses
       D. Application
    Let the pupils remove the contents inside the refrigerator and group them as to  
                breads,  fruits, vegetables, drinks and meats
    Say: The refrigerator is invented with a purpose; to preserve foods.
E. Generalization
    How many basic food groups have you learned?
    Were you able to classify the objects and foods presented to you?
    How did you classify them?

Dindo and Linda stayed in their grandfather’s farm last weekend. They had a happy time with their grandfather.
“ I ate papaya in the morning. The papayas in grandfather’s farm are very sweet, too.The guavas are big and yellow,” said Dindo.
“ Mother , we had good times with Grandfather and Grandmother in the farm,” said Linda.
“We fed the pigs and the chickens. We took the cows to the grassy plain,” said Dindo. We  went out to the field. We picked wild flowers,” Linda said.
“Now you are back home. Go back to your books and to your lessons,” Mother said.
